Our Outreach

Here’s why we are we so passionate about the Get It Dunn 5K and Half Marathon… it enables us to have FUN while GIVING BACK to our communities in the form of educational and life scholarships and M.O.M. Cares packages.

In 2013, due to the overwhelming success of the 2012 Get It Dunn 5K & Half Marathon, we have created a new giving initiative in M.O.M. Camperships. We are giving away $5000 (up to $500 per child) randomly to applicants aged kindergarten to 12th grade. These Camperships can be used for any summer camp, classes or program. In 2012 we created M.O.M. Cares packages. We give these to families who are going through cancer treatment. M.O.M. understands the emotional and financial toll cancer has on all members of a family fighting cancer. Examples of special M.O.M. Cares gifts include camp registration, movie tickets, swimming lessons, a new bike, etc. Our goal is to help children still be kids when their family member is going through treatment. Funds raised in the 2012 Get It Dunn Run helped launch and fund this program. Visit our website for more information. Please email us if you know of a family that M.O.M. could help support with a care package.

M.O.M. Higher Education National Scholarship was created in 2012, also due to the success of our first year’s event. This is a $1,500 scholarship paid at the conclusion of the first semester with proof of completion of first semester with GPA over 2.5. Any student enrolled in college or technical school (any year in school) is elegible to win. Entrants are judged via an essay contest answering the following question “If you could be with anyone for a day, who would you be with, why and what would you do.” In honor of our 2012 successes, we are giving away this scholarship this fall. For more information on this scholarship and entry information, please visit our website or email us.

In 2008, the Kathleen Fisher Memorial Scholarship was established. M.O.M. annually awards this $2000 scholarship to a Menomonie High School graduate. Those graduating from Menomonie High School, and also MHS grads attending secondary school are eligible. This scholarship is awarded during the spring. Please email us or visit our website for more information.

M.O.M. also offers “Life Scholarships” to help serve less fortunate and deserving candidates in our communities. M.O.M. has given holiday gifts & clothing for winter weather, sponsored art workshops for children living in poverty, donations to Junior Achievement, The Bridge to Hope, the American Cancer Society among others.
